The reality of the world we live in is that some people have more than others. There is no one simple answer for why this is.
Right from the start of the story of God in the bible, God asked Cain why he didn't care more for the life of his brother. Throughout the bible God always asks us to care for those who are marginalised, poor, imprisoned and powerless, without friend or protector. When Jesus came to his home town in Nazareth, Galilee, he said that his purpose in coming was to do God's work of bringing good news to the poor, heal those who were blind and broken hearted and help those imprisoned to freedom. He was talking about the whole person; mind, heart, spirit, body.
The Thrive community seek to follow Jesus' example in all we say and do. We want to be real in all our relationships. We practice hospitality. We serve in a local primary school. In 2018 we intend to work with local agencies in our community towards providing support for people affected by gambling addictions.
